JAK-Metalli Oy invests in the quality of the products with high-quality production facilities
It is important for us to be close to all phases of the production chain. That way we can be sure to meet our quality criteria and to deliver high-class products to end-users around the world via our distributors. For these reasons we manufacture the JAK energy wood grapples almost entirely as our own work at our factory in Pirkanmaa region, Finland.
The factory is the heart of our operations ensuring high-quality production and quality control chain. We have a total of 3,500 m² of production and storage facilities at two locations, and our warehouse consists of 1,300 truck pallet spaces.

In few years´ time we have expanded our premises and implemented reforms to streamline production processes and to decrease lead times. We use modern equipment for machining and for that we have at our disposal
- One 5-axis CNC lathe
- Three CNC lathes, automatic bar feeder
- Three horizontal CNC machining centers
- Two vertical CNC machining centers
- Two CNC saws
We have 10 hand welding stations, and a modern Yaskawa welding robot is responsible for the automated welding mark. In the paint shop, it is possible to work in two shifts, which makes it possible to reduce the load from the rush peaks. Our assembly facilities have two separate lines, each with its own feeder shelves for the parts to be assembled. There is well enough space for handling pallets in the areas of arriving and departing goods, and outside the truck traffic has unobstructed access to both loading and unloading doors. We handle the transportation between our facilities with our own transport equipment, which makes us independent of external schedules.
Hardox In My Body -partnership as a sign of high quality
JAK-Metalli Oy has been SSAB’s Hardox In My Body -partner since the beginning of its operations, and all of our tree shears bear the HARDOX® brand label as a sign of the genuine Hardox wear steel used in the product. On the video is shown the manufacturing process of JAK grapples and the HARDOX® cooperation as part of the quality of our products.
Self-sufficiency in production and design sets us free to change and adaptation
The production chain of JAK energy grapples is completely under our control and this way we can ensure continuous quality control throughout the entire manufacturing process. Our own production facilities, together with our own design and product development, play a key role in our ability to quickly respond to market demands and changes. Independence in production and design also enables versatile adaptation to the individual needs of our customers.
